BGR Opens Consultation Period for Eureka III EIS and Announces Webinars for Public Engagement

As an update to the announcement from January 17, 2025, on the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) plans for the stakeholder consultations for environmental impact statement (EIS) on AI-controlled nodule harvester testing in the eastern BGR contract area, the BGR has announced the opening of the consultation period for the EIS regarding the planned testing of Eureka III in early 2026.

Stakeholders are invited to provide input until March 2, 2025. As part of this process, BGR will host two informational webinars to summarize the EIS findings and facilitate discussion, questions, and feedback from interested parties.

Tuesday, 25 February 2025 | 20:00 – 22:00 CEST [14:00 -16:00 EST]

Thursday, 27 February 2025 | 12:00 – 14:00 CEST [6:00 – 8:00 EST]
